The sound of distant screams could be heard as he broke the surface. “...Poor things...” He murmured quietly, peering into the depths. What he saw would disturb most, but he merely found the agony within it intriguing. The wrath and sloth swimming amongst his bare feet captivated him. He leaned forward, further over the barren river bank, and lowered his soft fingertips to the surface. “...Such... perfect sin...”

Snow stood at the barren bus stop with his hands shoved deep into his pockets. Each breath came with a puff of soft frost that trailed upward toward the gray sky and the sound of silence was all that could be heard in his early morning wait. He brought his hands to his mouth and breathed into them, warming his palms with his gentle exhales. This winter was particularly frigid, colder than all the ones that had come before it, but Snow found in it a strange comfort. Years ago he might have been complaining but now he welcomed the chilling dreariness. It reminded him of the emptiness inside himself.
